Monday Afternoons

12.45pm - 3pm

17th August - 5th October 2026

Have you ever admired botanical art and thought, “I’d love to try, but I’m not sure I could?” This eight-week course is designed for those ready to begin their botanical art journey.

Over eight weeks, Oleksandra Novatska guides students step by step into the world of botanical art. Participants will:

  • Learn to observe plants carefully and create accurate drawings of flowers and leaves.

  • Explore composition while discovering the differences between Traditional Botanical Illustration and Contemporary Botanical Art.

  • Discover the joy of watercolour through colour mixing, brush techniques, and bringing botanical subjects to life.

Each week, students receive personalised homework suited to their level, along with individual feedback in the following session. Oleksandra also shares her specially developed Botanical Art teaching diagrams, designed to simplify techniques and make the learning process clear and enjoyable.

Suitable for beginners and intermediate artists from a variety of creative backgrounds, this course offers a supportive introduction to botanical art, showing that the practice is both accessible and deeply rewarding.
