Suitable for 8-12 years
Students will be immersed in a prehistoric world as they create their own ancient artifacts! We’ll start by "thumping out" thick, rugged clay slabs that look like they’ve been buried for centuries. Then, we’ll press shapes and patterns into the clay to reveal hidden skeletons and fossils.
We invite students to bring 2 or 3 small plastic toys from home dinosaurs, insects, action figures, or toy cars to "fossilize" into their slabs! We’ll combine these with natural textures like stones and twigs to create a museum-worthy discovery.
Led by Ceramics Artist Euan Hunter

Students will be immersed in a world of creature design. This workshop is all about the joy of "slapping together" a masterpiece and celebrating the messy, tactile side of clay.
We will be creating a character full of personality, using layers of clay to add scales, warts, and wild features. If your child has any small items at home with interesting textures like shells, or textured buttons, they are welcome to bring them along to press into their monster’s skin!
