Join this wonderful class to create vessels and objects for the Japanese firing technique, Raku, known for its unique and unpredictable results.
Week 1 - Thursday 18th September, 2pm - 4pm
Learning the History of the Raku Ceremony and exploring techniques for Raku firing. Making of a tea-bowl and a slab box for tea.
Week 2 - Thursday 25th September, 2pm - 4pm
Hand-building a vase form.
Week 3 - Thursday 2nd October, 2pm - 4pm
Glazing of work using Raku glazes.
Week 4 - Thursday 9th October, 12pm - 5pm (estimated)
Raku at Allison’s studio in Whittingehame (transport will be arranged for anyone who doesn’t have a vehicle).
